Cheap Excursions in Moscow

Moscow is the capital of Russian Federation.

Geographical location: Moscow is situated in the center of the East European plain, which is crossed by the Moskva River. A well-known expression "Moscow stands on seven hills" is based on allocating of relatively high sites of watersheds. The Moscow climate is the temperate continental one.

The main places of interest: the Red Square, the Kremlin, the Temple of Vasily Blazhenniy, the Temple of Christ the Saviour,the Armory, the Bolshoi theatre, the Arbat street, the Poklonnaja Hill, the Kolomenskoe village, the Ostankino village, the Kuskovo memorial estate, the Tsaritsino village, the Novodevichiy and Donskoi monasteries, the private residence of Rjabushinskiy, GUM, the All Russia Exhibition Center,the Metro, the Stalin`s "vysotki", the zoo.

Museums: the Kremlin Museums, the Diamond Fund, the Armory Museum, the Lenin Mausoleum,the Historical Museum, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Cinema, the Darvinian Museum, the Museum of the East, the Kolomenskoe Museum, the Kuskovo memorial estate, the Museum of Architecture, the Krutitskoe Podvorie, the panorama of Borodino. The Tretjakovskaja gallery occupies a special place among the Moscow museums. Still early in life Paul Tretjakov has decided to create a museum of national painting, he considered that to be his civil duty. On August 31, 1892 he has presented to the Moscow municipal Duma his collection of paintings and sculptures: 1287 pictures, 518 drawings and 9 sculptures. The Tretjakovskaja gallery became the first Russian public museum showing the development of Russian fine arts for thousand years: the works of the X-XX centuries are exhibited here. In 1991 it was referred to especially valuable objects of cultural heritage of Russia.

Music: Moscow is one of the musical capitals of the world\; here there are many well known musical theatres and concert halls, including the Great and Small halls of the Conservatory, the Great concert hall of Russian Gnesinyh academy of music,the Chaikovskiy concert hall, the Bolshoi theatre, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich Danchenko musical theatre, the B.A.Pokrovskiy Chamber musical theatre, the Gelikon opera, the Novaja Opera, the theatre of Operetta and so on.
